Aussie RA28 1977 GT liftback

Post by bigrig91 »

Hey guys im from Australia, QLD. I just purchased (hardly-$200) a 1977 ra28 gt lb, in fairly decent condition. Came without motor and g box but did come with new front smilie bumper, two new front panels, sports seats that bolted straight in, not sure what there out of sorry, some rust in the hatch and a missing bonnet  !!! So if anyone in oz has a bonnet and hatch i can steal i would be happy to talk to them!
I have already stripped the interior out and cleaned most of the stuff off the floorpan, the plan is to fix the body up, suss out any more parts i need driveline wise. I have an 18rg with webbers, extractors and a steel 5 speed bolted to it that i am going to slowly build up with new cams, new bearings and electronic ignition. Enjoy.

Hey this is a good forum, and many members have multiple memberships on different sites, but http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/ is definitely the place you will want to be going since you are sourcing parts in Australia. and
Not everyone believes in "community". Some consistently hate & are negative. Some are self-preserving egomaniacs. The elitist clique ignores anyone outside their bubble. Lastly, innocent spectators, & then those who believe in community.

Good to see another Aussie RA28 on here.
I have just found myself two of these classics that I intend to build up one good car from.
Toymods is ok but there doesnt seem to be much in the way of parts around. There is some good info on there about these old vehicles though.
Good luck with the build and hope to see more pics of the progress.
