Now I am think of keeping both car after having them a while...
I have a question about the 72 st... the only issue body wise is a rust hole in the trunk. How hard is it to find a replacement trunk lid for this 72? or should I repair it?

If the only real issue is a rusty trunk, then don't part it out. You and the rest of the 1st Gen community would regret it.
I might be wrong but I think the trunk will fit from 71 - 75, don't know about the 76-77 Coupe though. Anyone else confirm this???
As for replacements they can sometimes be had. I think there are well made Fiberglass replacements out there, with or without a spoiler molded in. I also know that someone is making Carbon Fiber ones too.
ToyGarage sells them, but I think I've seen others before too http://www.toygarage.com/index2.html

If the rust isn't bad, then just fix it or have a shop do it. A replacement probably won't fit as well as your original.
You are SO lucky to find a 72 in such nice condition! Congrats!
