Hello from Greensboro Nc. (RA42 inside)

Post by J_whit »

Hello all, I have been into toyotas for most of my life. From Cressida to Corolla I have owned several of them. i just was doing some research on my Celica when I found this site. Looking forward to chatting with you all and it would be awsome if I could find another Celica owner close by. I currently own a 78 Corolla coupe, 89 Cressida and DD my RA42 Celica until I get the Cressida running again, After that the RA will be booted to full track car duty. Current plans for the Celica is finish restoring it and install a 4A-GZE. I'm going 9.5:1 compression, 272 cams, 13 lb pulley kit, Greedy Emanage, 2.5 inch exhaust with header. ect ect. I am open to any input some of you might have.

Cheers
Josh

Welcome to 1GC! Can't wait to see that on track. What are the plans as far as engine, and suspension?

For Suspension I'm thinking Koni yellows and Espelir GT springs, or maybe an AE86 coilover conversion.

1980, 5-speed, $800, right?

I've almost bought that car TWICE. A year or two ago, it was parked at the Harris Teeter on Battleground with a $1000 price tag and then a few months ago I saw someone else was selling it for $800.

Good luck with it! I'm in Chapel Hill, now. If you ever want to meet up, I'd love to help work on the Cressida (7M-GE, right?) if you want to help me wire up a 22R-TE into an RA29.

I have never done any work on a 22r-te so it would all be guess work. Mine is a MX83 Cressida w/ 7m-GE. 3.1L, turbo cams, 2.75 tanabe hyper medallion catback. But we should mosdef meet up some time. would be nice to have some more celicas around.
