1977 GT Owner

Post by gtmittens »

Hi,

My name is Kristen (aka GT Mittens) and I just purchased a 1977 Celica GT w/ a .75 bored over 20R, 5-speed, headman headers and a cherry bomb exhaust. Pretty mechanically sound, but otherwise fairly rough (it was a coast car and has some rust issues). I thought I would join this form to get some advice on working on my car and in general talk to other 1st gen owners.

Welcome to the Club =)

There are a few members down in Oregon, plus the rest of us only a Forum Question away.

She looks rough, but very savable, gonna be nice to see the progress.

So there's the rest of the car! Welcome aboard! That's the way I always wanted to do projects anyways. Get the driveline sound, then work on aesthetics. Some body panels and a re-paint and it'll be a head turner again!

This was a '73 400 before I cracked the block. Now I have a date casted 1968 400 w/#16 heads.

You'll notice a trend in my cars... 1st gen models, have some rust issues, need more work, but someday, will be badass! (actually I already think they are!)

Hi Kristen, after your email yesterday I decided to see if I could find you on here to say HI! since you mentioned you were a member, and it looks like I did ;)

so Hi!

As I said if you need some help Im willing and have the space and tools to do a proper job. Just let me know. Also if you cant make it out to me, I come into town regularly so maybe I can come by and give you a hand with some things.

Welcome aboard. I like your firebird much as well as your celica, it looks like she just needs a good nail polish paint job.
