hello my name is matthew, i recently picked up a 1976 celica coupe from a good friend of mine desperately screaming to be rescued. The car was sitting in a field for several years where it inherited a nasty ant problem. Since then i have torn the car halfway apart, solved the ant problem, fixed both front windows, and have began body work, I'm no stranger to old toyotas, i had an 81 starlet that i was building and planned on using for autocross. i work at les schwab and i look forward to learning many new things, meeting up with you guys and offering any help i may have

Welcome! What part of OR?
Come spring/summer we need to have a PNW meetup, I think there are a lot of us in OR/WA/ID.

As in Montana? Uh, ok, sure. The more the merrier, but that might be a long drive. My distance limit is roughly 2 hours from Salem OR.

UPDATE!!!
pulled the motor, sanded nearly the entire car to metal and primed the metal to prevent rusting.
used duplicolor build able/sand able high build primer.
tore out all the sound deadening with dry ice
bought myself a set of new weld on ae86 fortune auto coilers, there are about two weeks out, i called today, going to be using ra64 strut tubes and brakes
rota 15x9 -15 wrapped in 195 50 15 thunderer mach 3 inexpensive tire for daily use.
got a sparco sprint 5 seat because the stock drivers recliner was broke and it was either all the way up, or all the way back.
painting cleaning, collecting parts is what I'm up to. hope to have it running and looking decent by july!

i built the suspension for it too, i shouldn't have gotten rid of it, i did that 240x thing
anywhom my starlet was the reason why i got a celica, old school j-tin just feels right, less going on, good handling, and lots to do to them! tell him to keep it, i do regret getting rid of mine

WELCOME! and thanks for saving that beauty! I've driven through Lebanon several times. We were recently in Newport last Oct. for Oyster Cloyster. Good times.
Just FYI. T3 sells hybrid knuckles to adapt the RA64 spindles to our RA24 control arms.

perfect!! actually one perk of working where i work is i can cross reference parts and found that the ra24 and ra64 share the EXACT same lower ball joint, i plan on actually using whole ra64 front crossmember/steering rack/rack and pinion my weld on ae86 coilovers from fortune auto are going here the 18th, I'm going to post a write up of how i made the suspension.
is it frowned upon I'm using my intro and turning it into basically my build
