Hi from San Diego

Post by slammy »

Just received my 1971 FA20 Celica. It's a project car that needs a lot of help. I plan on finding all the parts and assembling the car together, then striping it back down and sending it out for body work and paint. I figured it would be better to learn and practice on a beater than on something with a fresh coat of paint. I have never done a car like this so I will be asking the Celica community (you guys) for lots of help and encouragement. Anyway, hi and thanks again Mike for the hooking me up with all the goodies!!

Thanks for the positive comments, I need all the encouragement I can get.

Thanks Nick. Plans are to make it a restomod. Clean and simple with some upgrades here and there to the suspension and brakes. Looking at rad_ra21's stuff, looks like he does a great job. I'm going to splurge on a Stage 3 22r from LCE with dual 40mm Webers. Keep it old school. The sound of webers is addicting to me so I gotta have it. Not sure on the interior yet. Need to go to some car shows and see what I like. My inspirations are the orange car by a forum member named jseningen and the blue celica by wiqdtoy. If I can build half the car they made, I will consider it a success.
