Hi guys,
Thought id finally share my work in progress. Its been a 14 year progression for my 22, from buying it without knowing how to drive a manual to now using it on the track.
I did buy it with the mazda already in place but the engine was as stock as they came back in the 70s.
Minor mods over the next 3 years didnt see it change that much but an accident saw a major rebuild necessary:
Stripped shell rebuild & paint
New dash, carpet ,roof lining, center console.
Extended bridgeport intake
48 Webber
exhaust
Front barke upgrade (VL turbo discs + calipers)
rebuilt front suspension + steering rack
rebuilt RX3 4 row rad
alot more i cant remember right now
There was a period of 5 years where i basically didnt even look at it, now over the past year or so the interest is starting to grow again.
In recent months Ive:
Replaced webber with EFI system (surge tank in boot)
Currently rebuilding front supension for track use.
Next big project will be the diff!!
Ive been trying to figure out how to upload pics, sorry, you have to bear with me. Maby a few hints thanks!
Dave
