Hi my name is Gerard and I'm from Ireland, and I have loved toyotas and especially celicas for years.
I currently own a 96 st205 gt four and recently I was lucky enough to buy a 78 ra28 gt model complete with 18 rg engine, LSD and silver dash trim. The car came in bits as an abandoned project and I hope to start a restoration soon. The body is very sound except for sills/ rockers and rear arches and small welding needed to chassis legs near front of car.
The car came with brand new genuine Toyota hood/bonnet, 2 wings/fenders and 2 new doors! I hope to get welding sorted and restore car to original condition with some new wheels and maybe lowered suspension.
I'm glad to have found this site and hope to get some good advice and source some parts etc from you guys!

Thanks for the comments! Yes I think I will keep the car the same colour, I want to try and keep it pretty much original. Although I like white as a colour, but I was lucky to find an ra28 of any colour as they are very rare over here!

Thanks for the kind comments guys. I'm based in Monaghan. It sure is hard to get bits over here, they are all rusted out, I was lucky the guy I bought the car off had it for years and had bought the panels years ago for the restoration. Also came with new front bumper and rear tail lights and set of emblems and some other bits. But there are still plenty of bits to get and slowly I am coming across them! Takes time and money. And pat and rockey I've been watching your builds and you are doing some nice work. Wish I had my welding done, as you said pat the rebuild is the nice part

Bloody hell all those bits are worth a lot of money!
I know a guy looking for a bonnet at the moment but where to get one I wouldn't even know where to start!
As for a new front bumper, dam!
Been contemplating seeing if I could get wings etc etc sent over in a crate at some stage but I'm sure cost would be huge
