Greetings from Indy

Post by Unreal89 »

Sup everyone,

Just recently picked up a 76 GT liftback (RA29) and enjoying it here in Indianapolis before winter comes. Has a weber carb, a cam, and pace setter exhaust manifold. Looking forward to tinkering on it and ironing some of the kinks out. Seems like this is the place for that sort of stuff.

Already got a new battery for it (decided to die on me a week after buying it) and fixed an exhaust manifold leak. Future hopes are to lower it, get some wider/more flush wheels and and get some smiley bumpers.

Welcome, indeed this is the place.... Tons of info and experience. Use the search button if you need to find something specific, but don't hesitate to ask. Many good people her wanting to help a fellow Celician... (is that actually a word...?)

Tip: Download the manuals from Andrew's site (3rd row down in the FAQ topics). :2thumbs:

Speaking as an European; Yes, do get some smileys! Personally I can't stand those US bumpers... just saying... And please, please keep those oh-so-nice original rims.

Oh, and put your location in your profile, so people know where you are.
Cheers,
Rob

Thanks. Location updated.

I ordered the fiberglass replica smileys on eBay. Looking forward to getting them on but not sure what to do as far a color.

Any one try chrome vinyl wrap? similar to this guy: http://transamcountry.com/community/ind ... ic=64909.0

Welcome! Good to see someone not terribly far from me (Cincinnati). That's a really clean car. How do you like it with the Weber, cam and exhaust?

Thanks. I don't know what the car feels like stock, but it runs pretty good with the mods. It has a bit of a flat spot between 1-2k rpm sometimes and idle somewhat high at 1100 rpm. I plan to tend to that soon, but trying to enjoy it for now and get used to driving it.

WELCOME!

That is a pretty sweet looking ra29.

the smiley bumpers will make a HUUUUUGE difference on the car... it will look like a totally different vehicle.
