Re: My 77 Celica GT Liftback *Hatsumi*
Are you just using muriatic acid on the alu wheels? That's what I've done before it acts the same as you describe it. It works very nicely but you need to be sure to watch it so it doesn't foam, an be sure to rinse everything really well after cleaning it, otherwise it will form white powder all ove...

The rocker panels, wheel arches, bottom of fenders, spare tire well, metal lip under rear hatch seal, carpet in passenger area. Those are the places I would look first. If you find rust take some pictures and post them and we'll let you know what we think!

I would personally go for the liftback, but that's because I'm a liftback guy. It looks like it's in pretty good shape and has a 22R already in it. Good luck!

Re: the journey
On the blinkers cancelling, there is a white collar around the steering column that is supposed to engage with the back of the steering wheel. Mine are always old and crappy and don't pop out like they are supposed to. I always have to take a knife blade or something small and stick it in there to p...

Dang you really made out on that! And I thought I got a good deal when I paid $200 for mine! I love the way it looks in flat black. Pretty good for only rattle canning it! I especially like the recessed marker lights on the side. I had considered doing that, but I wasn't sure how it would look. But ...

Re: Long time lurker
When I went through my 20R last year, it had an incredible amount of oil slinging from the oil pump. Turns out I only put the bolts in finger tight. But just make sure the little gasket ring thing around the face of the oil pump is in place when you put the pump back on. If it falls out of th...

Hey! Glad to see another guy from Utah! I'm up in Clearfield as well. You're in Davis county so your at least close! Do you have a 77 liftback or coupe? My daily driver is a 77 liftback with an 18RG in it. It's at the doctors office getting a check up still. :banghead: Been over a month now. We all ...

Yeah I read that post. It sounds like a good deal! You should take an extra set of hand with you to drive the gold one home, and just tow the white one.

Nice to have another member on here from the Wasatch Front! There aren't many of us from around here, but there are a couple. We make fiberglass parts for all the Celicas so once you get one, we can supply you with what you need!

Black RA29's seem to be the thing for UT members... Nice looking car. You got that right! :D Though I'm probably repainting mine this spring and going silver and blue. Not quite sure on how I'm going to be doing the combo though. We definitely need to get together for a meet sometime! The paint on ...

he pointed me in the right direction on my first car... a TE51 corolla. Nice! That was my first car as well! Actually, it was my first three cars... :D But now I've converted to Celicaism and it's in my blood to drive my Celica. But my 77 TE51 is a close second! I have a few pics of my Corollas on ...
