Re: Thank u for excepting me into this page
I'm not the right person to answer your questions, but let me start the conversation by asking: Are you planning on keeping the "e" part or converting it to a carb? Converting to carb is easier, but personally I vastly prefer EFI. What year is your 22RE? If you are going carb I THINK the f...

Re: New guy from Florida.
Skeptic, he was asking 5500 for the Celica and I had about 4200 in the Benz. If I found the right buyer I probably could have gotten about 5000 to 5500 for the Benz. It's rare to find a 1st gen for sale around here, the Mercedes are rare but easier to find. If the interior is anywhere near as nice ...

Re: New guy from Florida.
Nice looking car - I really like the color. I don't know anything about the value of the Mercedes you traded, that would determine if I think you're crazy or not. If you could have sold the Merc then bought the Celica for significantly less, then you're crazy. If they are roughly equal value, then g...

Wow, the body looks like it's in great shape. Is that really the original stick-on side molding?

As in Montana? Uh, ok, sure. The more the merrier, but that might be a long drive. My distance limit is roughly 2 hours from Salem OR.

Come spring/summer we need to have a PNW meetup, I think there are a lot of us in OR/WA/ID.

Re: Greeting From Utah
What city? I'm in Clearfield on the edge of Layton... I'm not a teenager buy a long shot, but there are a couple other Celica owners in the area - I'd be up for hitting a car show as a group. Good luck having the fastest teen ager owned car in UT - there is always going to be a few "rich" ...

Re: Hi! Im looking into buying this celica! opinions ?
Just to be fair - I'm not claiming it's a clunker. It may be an ok car (clearly in need of some fixing up), and the previous owner may have tried to spruce it up a bit on the cheap before trying to sell it. It may be a paintjob, signal lenses, dash and a bit of TLC away from being a nice little '73....

You mean the over spray where someone didn't even bother to tape it off? Looks like they just closed the door and went at it with a wagner and some left over wall paint. Satin finish beige maybe?neil reid wrote:The door jamb looks a bit wrong color wise

And this.Decide on your budget for a car like this. Half of that goes towards its purchase. The rest goes to repairing whatever the previous owner lied about.

Re: Hi! Im looking into buying this celica! opinions ?
Ask him to provide documentation on mileage (i.e., service reports/receipts) and proof of storage (registration and insurance). Otherwise assume he's full of crap. You would be surprised at how many of these cars have just 50K miles and have been stored for the last 10 years... Look at the brake pe...
