Re: Hi! Im looking into buying this celica! opinions ?
Ask him to provide documentation on mileage (i.e., service reports/receipts) and proof of storage (registration and insurance). Otherwise assume he's full of crap. You would be surprised at how many of these cars have just 50K miles and have been stored for the last 10 years... Look at the brake pe...

Re: Hello!
Welcome aboard. That ticket reminds me of a time back in '97. Just got back from a 6 month deployment and my buddy goes out and buys a Mustang Cobra. We're driving 65mph through the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel when Smokey pulls up along side us. Buddy speeds up 5mph. Smokey speeds up 5mph. Buddy spe...

Re: New guy from AZ with a Liftback GT
I almost bought this car myself, but being a '76, it didn't quite fit the rest collection (3x '77 LB). Sounds like a nice collection! Meh. Jazelle is a long term project and I haven't even started on her, except to pull parts to use elsewhere. Engine and tranny are both out. Rusty has a slick inter...

Plenty of people have started Nissan motor swaps into Celicas. Personally, I facepalm every time I hear about it. I get that you're the only one that you have to please at the end of the day, but I still wonder why you didn't just get a 280Z. Regardless, good luck and have fun with it.

There's a lot of good Toyota motors that'll fit in there and lots of good info on the web for how to do it. I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.

Re: New Guy Here
With respect, if you're worried about the resale value for the future then you might wish to reconsider why you're interested in this particular hobby. You're talking about a 30+ year old car that's not really recognized by the collector's market at large. The odds of you recouping your invest, whet...

Hello World! FNG in AZ
Hi All, I'm David and this is my second go around here, but let me explain. A year and a half ago I decided I wanted to get a classic Celica and started lurking, trying to learn. Then I got laid off and that pretty much torpedoed my plans. Now I've been at a steady job for a while, getting my financ...
