Re: My Toyotas and '72 race project

Great project! Interested to see how where you go with it. Mine is a 20/22R very built, but even more so than the 3TC, very available parts.

Re: New here from Virginia Beach, VA

I know someone with a 20R and W50 trans if you are interested. They just did a 22RET so the old motor is just sitting there. It's carbed out of an 80 Celica. Let me know if you want it, he's looking to get it out of his garage pretty quick.

Re: New here from Virginia Beach, VA

Is this the MegaSquirted 18RC? I never did get to see it, only saw his Z. I live in the area. Used to be in VA Beach, now I'm in Hampton.

Re: Hello from Belgium

Welcome to the forum! The car looks very nice! The spoiler does look 70s, but not 70's 'normal-car-with-a-spoiler'. Nobody in the 70s ran a spoiler that big on a normal otherwise stock car (maybe you crazy 70's Belgium'ites did??). The race cars of that era did, but they also had flares and skirts. ...

Yeah, it's just that the RB doesn't have anything the 2J doesn't (aside from being way more expensive). Where the F20C does have an edge over all the 4 cylinders by Toyota. But, I still maintain that the RB20 is one of the prettiest engines. http://driftjapan.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/tome...

AE86 is a Mid 80s RWD Corolla (the last years of RWD). RA29 is a US version 76-77 Celica.

Welcome to the forum! Got any pics of the AE?

Re: New member from Seattle

The ae86 is 1" wider and almost 400lbs heavier. The more I research, the more I like these numbers :D -Thanks Matt My buddy has a turbo AE86 hatch back and it weighs 100lbs less than my Celica. And the only weight savings he had that my Celica didn't have at the time was a CF hood. I seriously...

Re: New member from Seattle

It's about 3-4" wider. I'm not sure of the exact measurement, but I have compared AE86 axles to mine and they were each about 2" longer. I would really think that it would be easier to make the Celica engine cross member work with the 4AG and rack, rather than swapping out the hole thing. ...
