Not a Celica owner yet but have been looking for a clean 1st gen off and on for the past six months. Have a Toyota Starlet that has kept me busy for the past couple of years , but have had a real itch to get a Celica and going through the forum has already provided a wealth of info in my search.
Thanks for the warm welcome guys, the Starlets almost done so its nice to get it out and finally enjoy it. Found a 72 Celica last year which was in pretty rough shape, gave a call to see if the owner still has it, he does and its still for sale. Should drive up to take a look at it, hopefully if all goes well (crossing fingers) I'll have a 72 by this weekend.
Good luck with your search and hope you find a decent one. since ur up here with me, it's hard to find one in good condition sine most of the bodies are rusted out to crap by now. but seems like you could handle it looking at your starlet. just be sure to check for rust as usual with old cars like ours. how much you looking to spend for one?
Thanks again guys. Still trying to get a handle on how much they go for so not really sure. Bought my Starlet in San Diego only because I knew it would be less of a headache with the rust and all, wouldn't mind doing the same if I find a nice example.
